Trick or treating in the area

Trick or treating in the Village of Lakewood Club will be from 6-8 p.m. The Village residents will hold a trunk or treating event along Kenwood Blvd. at that time.

According to Lakewood Club Clerk Wendy Bloem, this event has been happening for the past 2-3 years because the residents felt that it’s a safer way for the kids to do their trick or treating.

The Village Street supervisor will place signs at each end of Kenwood Blvd. informing drivers of this. The residents will then line up and down Kenwood Blvd. to pass out candy.

The Village of Rothbury in Oceana County will have its annual Halloween Party on Oct. 31 at the village hall. From 5-6:30 p.m. the village will provide hot dogs, french fries, juice and candy to children. The party will also have hay rides by Double JJ Resort and games. The Grant Township Fire Department and Rothbury Police will provide escorts for the hay wagon and tractor.

In Dalton Township, and the neighboring cities of Montague and Whitehall, trick or treating will be held from 6-8 p.m.
