R-P 2nd, Whitehall 3rd at GMAA meet

MUSKEGON — The Reeths-Puffer girls’ golf team placed second and the Whitehall Vikings third Wednesday in the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association meet at Chase Hammond Golf Course.

Mona Shores ran away with the meet, defeating all comers by 68 shots.

Reeths-Puffer posted a 374 to earn runner-up honors. Angela Clarke led the way for the Rockets with a score of 88, while Breanna McCarthy added an 89 for the Rockets. Also scoring for Reeths-Puffer were Hannah Moss with a 98 and Courtney Fox with a 99.

Whitehall’s 437 was easily good enough for a third-place finish. Nikki Borgman led the Vikings with a score of 96, 10th-best score at the meet and good enough to earn a medal. Autumn Sherman was only one shot behind Borgman, shooting a 97.

R-P finishes 2nd in conference

ALLENDALE — Reeths-Puffer placed second Thursday at the Post-Conference meet at The Meadows, posting two top-10 finishers. Breanna McCarthy placed fifth with a score of 88 and Angela Clarke’s 97 placed eighth.
