A woman may have suffered a concussion from a crash involving a semi-truck after she ran the blinking red light at the intersection of Riley Thompson and Russell Roads.

A Twin Lake woman suffered a possible concussion when the car she was driving ran a blinking red light and turned in front of a semi truck last Wednesday morning at the intersection of Riley Thompson Rd. and Russell Road in Dalton Township.

Vivian Suzanne Taylor was the driver of a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville which was westbound on Riley Thompson, and according to witnesses, failed to stop for the red blinking light and turned left in front of a 2007 Kenworth semi headed north on Russell Road. The semi driver was Michael Lynn Bower (no address given on the accident report).

The Muskegon County Sheriff’s Department report indicated the crash occurred at 7:43 a.m.

The report indicated the semi struck the rear of the car which then traveled into a ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Dalton Township firefighters had to cut off the driver’s door to get to Taylor.

Taylor was transported to Mercy Health Partners-Hackley Campus in Muskegon for treatment of injuries. She was cited for failure to yield the right of way, according to the accident report.
