Keeping ties with students
  Local churches encourage college students in their faith through prayers and valued care packages.

Carol Weller, a summer resident who has attended Claybanks United Methodist Church, was listening to a Christian radio station a few years back and heard a statistic which stuck with her and launched her into action in a ministry to college students.

“They said a study indicated that when young people go off to college, those who were regular church attenders and were part of Sunday School and youth groups, they stop going to church,” Weller said.
